Our Hiawatha Log Homes project that's overlooking the Huron Mountains is beginning to look more and more like the epic, woodland retreat that it is destined to be. One unique feature of this cabin is the logs themselves. The logs are milled in the "Swedish Cope" style. Swedish Cope is a popular log cabin style where a concave groove is notched into the bottom of each log prior to stacking them. This allows them to stack firmly on each other thus creating an evenly spread, load-bearing, weather-tight seal. We also love the traditional log cabin look this style gives this home - wouldn't you agree?
